The Massachusetts Archives holds vital statistics, records of births, deaths
and marriages in Massachusetts, for the years 1841 to 1905. The Archives has
index books for the records. Each index volume includes five years, and
names are sorted alphabetically within each five-year period.
For vital records after 1905, please contact.............
Costs....... Certified copies of B/M/D's $3.00 each. There is much more
info available.
Archives staff can spend a maximum of 45 minutes to answer research
questions based on information in Archives records. Include names, dates,
locations, and as much specific information as possible about the issue you
are interested in.
If you are not able to visit the Archives to do research in person, you may
want to hire a student or professional who can conduct research on your
behalf.
Queries are handled in the order received, and all responses will be sent by
mail.
Please include your full name, mailing address, and telephone number on all
requests.
