For those with access to the Allen County Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana,
the library carries the fiche collection of the "Boston Transcript." It is
indeed an excellent source of leads for New England brick walls. However,
the primary problem is to know where to look in this extensive collection of
newspaper articles. Fortunately, Ancestry.Com has a two cd set of the
"American Genealogical-Giographical Index" which indexes the newspapers plus
additional resources. Without the date and item number it would be nearly
impossible to search the newspaper. The cd set is available through
internet genealogy stores. I do not have any financial connection with
either Anecestry.Com or the disk publisher but am a happy user of the
product and a frequent searcher of the Boston Transcript. Chuck Johnson..
