wife, Mary White of Lancaster. Dr. Jonas Prescott m. (1) March 31, 1779,
Susannah Wilder; she died and he m. (2) Ruth Kidder; he studied medicine and
settled at Templeton, Mass., where he died. (he had 5 children by his first
wife).

Polly Kidder of Hollis, N.H. He was at Thetford, VT in 1790, Lempster, N.H.
in
1792 then located permanently at Bethel, Maine. He was a mill-wright and
called to
various places by his business. In Bethel, Maine, he purchased a tract of
land and
erected some mills, now known as "Locke's Mills," owned and occupied by his
sons James & Charles Locke in 1853. He died Oct 12, 1840. He had 10
children by
his first wife Hannah Russell. (see p. 260)

The first of this name who lived in this town was Thomas Kidder son of John &
Lydia (Parker) b. 1690 at Chelmsford, MA. John was the son of James Kidder
and
came from Billerica about 1685. Thomas Kidder m. Joanna Keyes 1816.
