Thomas LAWRENCE and Prudence _____[ who m. (2nd) 2 yrs after his death,
Shadrach Whitney. She was 68 when she died in 1762. She was b. 1694. She
was 20 when she married (1) Thomas Lawrence. She was 37 when she m. (2)
Shadrach Whitney. Shadrach Whitney was aslo 37 when he married the widow.

Thomas Lawrence died Oct 4, 1729 [see p. 6 Epitaphs aged 37 yrs.] b. 1692 aged
22 when he married Prudence abt 1714

Their children:
Prudence Lawrence b. Sept 14, 1715 [m. Jan 30, 1732/3 Samuel Cummings, both of
Groton & on same page
as marriage of her

who departed this Life Dec'r 25th A.D. 1762. in the 68th year of her Age.
She born 1694 She was 37 when she m. Shadrach Whitney

Author's note: Her maiden name was Lawrence; she was married January 5,
1731/2

Here lies the Body of Mr. Shaderah Whitney who departed this Life August the
8th
A.D. 1764 in the 67th Year of his Age. "From death Arrest no Age is free."

Author's note: He made his will a few weeks before his death and bequeathed
to the town the sum of 40 pounds, the income to be applied to the support of
the
minister. His wife died December 25, 1762; they probably had no children.

SHADRACH WHITNEY'S BEQUEST
By his will made on July 20, 1764, Shadrach Whitney gave to the town of
Groton the
sum of forty pounds of which the interest ws to go toward the support of the
settled
minister. In his will he mentions his brothers Amos and Daniel, and his
"Cousin,
Sible Lakin," daughter of his brother Timothy. He died on August 8, 1764 in
the 67th
year of his age; and on his tombstone the given name is written "Shaderah."
His wife died on December 25, 1762 and presumably they left no children. The
following
is the extract:

"Item - My Will is & I do hereby give & bequeath to the Town of Groton the
Sum of
forty pounds to be paid by my Executors hereafter named within two years
after my
Decease to be Improve for their use forever hereafter in manner following
(viz) for the
said Town to Let out the said money upon Interest in such way & manner as they
shall think fit, so that the Interest thereof may be Improved & applyed for &
towards
the Support of the ordained minister of the Town of Groton, from time to time
for
ever hereafter.

He and Prudence (--?--) no children. He was granted lot number 66 (he "of
Concord") on 11 May 1720 Lunenburg, Worcester, MA. He was signed a petition
on 31 Dec 1746 Groton, Middlesex, MA. He left a will on 20 Jul 1764 Groton,
Middlesex, MA; of Groton; brother Amos Whitney; cousin Sible Lakin, daughter
of brother Timothy Whitney, decd.; cousin Jonathan Whitney, son of brother
Zaccheus Whitney, decd.; Jonathan Herrick and Joseph Herrick, Jr., sons of
Joseph Herrick, both under 21, else their brothers and sisters; Timothy
Whitney, son of brother Daniel Whitney; Jonathan Lawrance of Groton; Joseph
Herrick, "now living on my Land in New Hampshire"; cousin Francis Fullam;
"sister Sarah Warren's daughter Anner that married to a Cox"; Submit Woods,
daughter of Reuben Woods; cousin Jonathan Parkhist son of my late sister
