I took a digital photo of the page (37 kbs) of the following signatures of
some early
Lynn settlers. The photo is freely shared on request.
Samuel Whiting Sr. settled over the 1st Church of Lynn, 1636.
George Burrill, head of the family once called the royal family of Lynn.
Signature
written in 1653.
Thomas Newhall, the first person of European parentage born in Lynn, written
in 1677
at the age of 47
Thomas Laughton, an active and conspicuous settler. Written in 1668
Thomas Dexter, a prominent and enterprising settler. Written in 1657.
Maria Augusta Fuller, writer of prose & poetry. Written in 1829 aged 22.
Jeremiah Shepard, sucessor to Mr. Whiting and 1st minister of the Old Tunnel
Meeting House where he preached 37 years. Wittten in 1689 at the age of 41.
Ebenezer Breed "Uncle Eben" Wirtten in 1796 at the age of 31.
Moll Pitcher, the fortune teller, written in 1770 at the age of 32.
George Gray, the hermit of Lynn, written in 1843 at the aged of 73.
Alonzo Lewis, Lynn historian and bard, written in 1831 at the age of 37.
Charles F. Lummus, first printer at Lynn. Written in 1832, aged 31.
