Subject: [GM-L] Influenza Epidemic of 1859

I was told by my father his grandparents died in Mass in the flu epidemic of 1859 that hit the US that year. I have found very little about it or how many may have died..I have found no trace in Mass of my ggrandparents, Charles Frederick and Mary Butler, even though they had a child John Frederick in May of 1859 in Chelsea. Is there a source for information on the Influenza epidemic in Mass in 1859? Or the deaths by this cause?
