Charles Henry Pope's "Pioneers of Massachusetts" says this:

Edward, son of William, of Salcombe Regis, Eng., came about 1633 to
Dorchester where his bro. Roger had already settled. Propr. town officer,
freeman Dec. 7, 1636; deacon. He m. #1, Prudence, dau. of Nicholas C. of
Venn Ottery; he m. #2, Susanna ( perhaps dau. of Wm. Cockerell). Children:

Prudence, b. 29 (10) 1637 (m. at Dorchestern in Feb. 1659-60,SimonPeck

He d. Jan 8, 1664. Will prob. Feb. 17, 1664-5. Beq. to wife, sons Ezra
and Nehemiah, daus. Susanna and Esther; portions of daus. to be equal with
what they that are married have already received, that is [pound sign] 30
apiece. Inv. showed house and lands in Dorchester and Milton, 103 part of a
house at Salem, etc. The widow Susanna d. June 16, 1668.

Capt. Roger, bro. of Edward, above, b. at Salcombe Regis, Eng. April 6,
1609, joined in the Church-Colony organized at Plymouth, Eng., in March,
1629; came in the Mary and John, arriving at Nantasket May 30, 1630. Settled
at Dorchester. Propr., town officer, freeman May 14, 1634. He was capt. of
the militia, deputy, authorized to join persons in marriage, and app. Aug.
10, 1665, capt. of the Castle, where he continues 21 years. Removed to
Boston in 1696. He m. Nov. 6, 1633, Johanna, dau. of Mr. Thomas Ford, a
fellow passenger in the Mary and John. She was b. in Dorchester, Eng., June
8, 1617, and d. in June 1695. Children:

He d. Feb. 2, 1690-1; was bur. in the old burying place, now called
King's Chapel Burying-ground. He left an autobiography, which has been
printed, and constitutes one of the most valuable memorials of the founders
of New England, His will, dated, Nov. 19, 1690, beq. to his wife and
surviving sons Samuel, Preserved, Hopestill and Desire, daus. Elisabeth and
Wait, and cousins Ester Bissell and Constant Dewey,

FORD, FOARD, FOORD, FOORTH
Thomas, from Dorchester, Eng., came in the Mary and John in 1630 to
Dorchester. Freeman May 18, 1631. He removed about 1635 to Windsor, Conn.;
extensive land-holder; deputy. Removed about 1672 to Northampton.
Wife____d. 18 April, 1643; he m. #2, Mrs. Ann Scott, who joined him in deed
23 Aug. 1672. Children:
Johannah. b. June 8, 1617 (m. Capt. Roger Clapp)
Abigail, (m. John Strong)
Mary (m. Aaron Cooke)
Hepzibah (m. #1, Richard Lyman, Jr., #2, John Marsh)
He d. 9 Nov. 1676. The inv. of his est. was pres. Jan. 10,, 1670, by
his son-in-law John Strong, to whom admin. was granted jointly with Preservd
Clapp and goodwife Marsh.
