Listers,
Thank you to all who sent information regarding Mother Goose.
I didn't realize that there was some controversy about her.
According to the information on the "Mother Goose Society" webpage sent to
me by Patricia Kelley-Staab, the term 'Mother Goose' has been traced back to
Loret's 1650 "La Muse Historique".
If true that would be before the time of Isaac Goose's first wife "Mary" who
died in 1690 at age 42. The webpage does not mention Thomas Fleet and
speaks of a 'ghost copy' published in 1719, which apparently has never been
found. Further, why do we not know where Elizabeth Goose was buried. If Mr
Thomas Fleet made her an author, one would think he would have provided a
suitable headstone.

Thanks to all, and Merry Christmas,
