The Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury has, p. 90, Thomas Challis
marrying, before September 3, 1696, Mary Colby, the daughter of John and
Frances (Hoyt) Colby.

On p. 105, the same marriage is reported, but reference is made to the
Griffin line, p. 188, specificaly to Theophilus Griffin, son of John and
Lydia (Shatswell) Griffin. There it is stated that a Theophilus
Griffin, b. October 1689, was the son of Theophilus Griffin and Mary
Colby. This Mary is indicated as possibly the daughter of John and
Frances (Hoyt) Colby.

Does anyone have information on whether or not these Mary Colbys are one
and the same?
