Hi, I am new to this list, and searching desperately for my Great Grandfather
Charles Tarbell Holmes family. Charles's parents were Ira Holmes and Harriet
Newell. Charles and siblings were born in East Pepperell MA, Charles being
born 22 May 1841. His sibling (the only one we know of right now) was his
sister Abigail, born abt 1837. Charles mother died when he was about 6 and a
half years old, and both Charles and Abigail are shown on the 1850 census of
Pepperell Town, Middlesex Co. as being in the household of Samuel Merrill. He
remained in that household until 1860 then moved and settled in Cherry
Valley, Winnebago Co. IL. Looking for more information on his father and
mother, and any other siblings.
