Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania for these folk.

I am interested in developing more of these BLANEY lines. My line of
descent is through the Elizabeth BLANEY marriage to Samuel James HAGERTY,
and their children who settled in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

The BLANEY family lines from which my ancestor Samuel sprang, seems to have
been located around the Boston-Roxbury, Massachusetts area. Baptismal
records document the children of William and Mary BLANEY in the Roxbury,
Mass. area [First Church, Roxbury, Massachusetts]

The family BLANEY moved to the New York City area and that is where an early
Fayette Co., Bio-history of Samuel begins. [Nelson's: Biographical
Dictionary and History of Fayette Co., PA]

The ancestors, Samuel BLANEY met his future wife Margaret FOY (born in NYC)
in NYC and following their marriage, they emigrated from the New York City
area to Fayette County, Pennsylvania sometime after the Revolutionary War.
In the Fayette County, PA location, Samuel Blaney was both a farmer and a
preeminent school- teacher of his day. I have more information on various
children, but am sadly lacking on others. I had read somewhere that Samuel
BLANEY had been involved with being a merchant sea captain during his New
York life and in that manner was involved in the fledgling United States
Navy during the Revolution. This I have not yet been able to verify, so I
would welcome any assistance or opinions on this matter.

My personal family lines descend through Samuel and Margaret's daughter
Elizabeth BLANEY who married Samuel James HAGERTY, an 1802 emigrant from
Ireland to Pennsylvania.
