Subject: [GM-L] Re Ancestry.com 1860 census index for MA

I just wanted to warn those who are doing census searches for 1860 MA that
not all the counties are there. I am not talking about the indexes that are
linked to census images. That includes only years 1790-1850. I am talking
about the general search that you do on the home page.
Barnstable, Bristol. Hampden, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk counties are part of
the MA census for 1860 as indexed on Ancestry.
Essex, Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Worcester are not there.
I don't know about Dukes and Nantucket Counties.
The censuses are there on the images, but names from all the counties will
not "pop" up when doing the general search for this year.
I assume they will complete the index before they link the names to the
images.
I hope I have not confused anyone.
