Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has ever come across a married couple .. James and
Lavair CLARK .. who were living in Westport, MA, in the 1830's. They had
a daughter there in 1837. But, they might have both died ..before 1850.

Mary Anna Clark, their daughter, was living in Westport in the 1850 Census
.. with no parents mentioned .. at Age 13. (There was a Rhoda Clark on
the same Census.)

Mary married John Dexter who had been born in 1837 in Killingly, CT. But,
I don't know .. where or when .. they married. .... There also is no
known information on how many children John and Mary Dexter had .. or where
they were born.

(There was another John and Mary Dexter who had children ..around the same
time .. in RI .. but I'm pretty sure it was a different couple.)

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

P.S. Were there any Flu epidemics .. or other ... serious health problems
going around .. that would have killed people on the East Coast .. in the
1840's?

(In my KIDDER research .. I have found out there was a Flu epidemic that
killed people in northern Maine .. in the 1860's.)
