Another Lawrence will - copy in reverse negative. I would like to point out
that these wills were acquired when I first started doing genealogy over 20
years ago...and I made the mistake of asking only for the will, not the
entire probate file. As a result, I do not have the inventory or any other
papers that might apply to the settlement of this estate. I also did not see
the importance of noting the file number (VERY bad).

In the name of God, Amen! I John Lawrence of Groton in
the County of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts
yeoman do hereby make and ordain this instrument to which I
[ ] is subscribed & my marke affixed to be my last will & testament

First My will is that my just debts be paid

Second I give and bequeath to Abigail my beloved wife the use & improvement
of one third part of all the real estate whereof I shall died seized during
her natural life; and I also give to her all my house hold furniture
one Cow and five Sheep to be by her selected at my decease.

Third I give and bequeath to Abigail my daughter the wife of Edward
Bishop of Littleton one dollar to be paid by my Executor hereinafter
named in six months after my decease and also three good ewe sheep
to be delivered to her immediately after my decease by my said Executor

Fourth I give, devise, and bequeath to my sons John, Nathaniel & Abel
all the rest, and residue of my estate real, personal or mixed in equal
shares to have & to hold Them, & Their Heirs and Assigns forever..as
Tenants in Common provided that they or either of them shall not
make any claims against my estate after my decease for any
labor or services done or rendered for me.

Lastly I do hereby appoint [ ] Bennett Esquire of Groton in said county &
Commonwealth
Executor of this my last Will & Testament

In testimony whereof I have hereunto put my hand & seal this
fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and twenty two.
