The Springfield Giants were an Eastern League Ball Club in Springfield MA.
The following link may be helpful:

There are a number of other links to the Springfield Giants that I found
using the advanced search at www.google.com .
I remember attending many, many Giants games back in the late 50's and early
60's.
Was there a pro ball club in Springfield MA c1900? Not to be confused
with the present hockey team, called the Indians, I have a note about
an ancestor who was offered a contract with the Springfield Indians of
the day. I've tried to research this on the internet, but find little
on sports history..... so thought it worth while testing the sleuthing
skills of the genealogists. :-)
If it rings a bell with some one, I'd also like to know what league it
was in. {One thing I did learn on the internet is that the Eastern
League began in 1923 - much too late for my guy).
