William Dunsmoor of Shrewsbury & Boylston.
On April 9, 1766, William was admitted to full communion North Parish of the
Shrewsbury First Church (Church Records/Shrewsbury Vol. 77 P28 NEGHD). The
Parish of Shrewsbury was formed Dec. 17, 1742, Rev. Ebenezer Morse AB Harvard
1737 1st pastor, became the First Congregational Church of Boylston in
1783.(See the History of Boylston Congregationalist Church for background on
Morse) Part of Shrewsbury was established as Boylston, March 1,
1786.(Massachusetts Town Records). From examining maps of this period we
think that William lived in the Prescott intervale area at the fork the
Nashua River, at Scar Bridge Road Bridge now flooded by the Waschusett
Reservoir.
