I grew up in Amesbury, just off the Haverhill Road. Amesbury had large
French and Polish communities so you might want to consider alternate
spellings. When the auto industry moved to Detroit, MI many of the workers
went with them. Others went to work in the mills in Lawrence and Lowell,MA
or in the then 2 big mills in Amesbury - The Merrimac Hat Co and Bailey Co.
Others moved to Burlington area of VT or other mills in the area. Hope this
