It is very disheartening to be the oldest person I know that is living, in my family.
Oh yes, I do have an older brother who knows less than I do about family history, and could care less !
And a one year older cousin who is in a religion that won't let her talk about our genealogy or celebrate birthdays, etc. I can not even get her mother's year of death from her.
My mother helped as much as she could until Alzheimer's illness took away her mind.
Before that happened, I promised her that I would continue the family history which she started in the 1950s.
Mother did an amazing job, considering what was available back then.
My aunt and mother used their vacations to drive from town office to town office throughout New England, copying records with pen and ink !
