Subject: [GM-L] "Ethan Allen Museum" in Burlington, VT, "nice place to visit"

Good morning,
A lady on the Mass. Bay List just offered the URL for the web site offering
information on the .. Ethan Allen Museum .. in Burlington, VT.
http://www.ethanallenhomestead.org/HISTORY/landgrants.htm
If you look at the News / Calendar section, you will see that they have
events which people or families might be interested in; e.g., "frontier
cooking."
I just looked at my "VT travel guide," and was reminded that Burlington, VT,
is quite a ride .. from the Boston, MA, area. It is up on the shore of
Lake Champlain. But, along the way, the map highlights: The Dakin
Farm, the Wildflower Farm, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, the Shelburne
Museum, etc.
Actually, it sounds like a nice place to spend your Thanksgiving Weekend!
Whether you be with family or friends
or whether you be at "loose ends,"
be grateful for the blessings you own
and don't regret the blessings .. flown!
And, always remember no matter the "day"
there is ..always.. something you can say:
There is ..always.. someone worse off than you,
and that should give you a hint .. of what to do!
(Just wrote that off the top of my head! :o) .. )
Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)
P.S. Also remember: "There, but for the grace of God, go I."
and, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares." (Hebrews, New Testament)
P.S. One of my genealogy "tools" is to send away for (free) travel guides
and (free maps) for the States and/or Countries which I am researching.
And, I keep them beside my pc .. so that I can easily look up a location
someone has mentioned.
P.S. My main research of 8+ years is the KIDDER surname. My line went
from MA in the 1600's to NH in the 1700's (and via NB) to Maine in the
1800's, and back to MA in the 1900's. And, when my great-grandparents
married in 1898, they had no idea that they were something like 19th cousins
to each other. (Kidder to RICE/CROSBY/HUTCHINSON)
"There are two lasting bequests we can give our children;
one is roots, the other is wings."
Hodding Carter, Jr.
