Hello everyone,
One of my lines of ancestry is the Blake family of Wrentham, MA. I have
some original, handwritten documents, such as deeds and notes taken by a
family member who typed up a family tree. Here is a list of the
documents I have, in case anyone may have a connection with any of these
names:
Letter dated Oct. 18, 1924 to Edward H. Blake from Earl Blake, Sheriff of
Plymouth County, requesting the "Blake Genealogy"
Pension, discharge and furlough papers for Jeremiah D. Blake, a private
in the Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, Company D, 40th Regiment, during
the Civil War
Something which appears to be a receipt between George L. Soule and
George H. Washburn for organs and pianos, dated April 18, 1881 - very
difficult to read the script
Receipt between Mr. J.D. Blake and G. J. Blake, Dr., for medical services
rendered to his daughter Abby from May 6 to May 11, 1869.
Receipt from Norfolk Registry of Deeds between Almira B. Brown and
Jeremiah Blake, dated April 9, 1864
Receipt for payment by Jeremiah Blake, delivered by George Sheldon to
Almira B. Brown for a quit claim deed held for security, August 23, 1862
Deed from Jeremiah D. Blake to Almira B. Brown, dated April 24, 1860,
witnessed by George Sheldon and Silas Fisher (Justice of the Peace)
Deed from James Foster to Jeremiah D. Blake, dated August 31, 1857,
witnessed by Silas Fisher
Deed from Edward Gay to Lemuel Blackinton, dated May 4, 1844, witnessed
by someone with the last name of Cheever and Silas Fisher
Deed from Edward Gay to Lowell Gillman, Oct. 31, 1842, witnessed by
Caroline Fisher and Silas Fisher
Obligation of Edward Gay to Amos Allen of Franklin, MA, witnessed by
James Adams and Samuel Guild
Lease of farm for one year from John and Samuel Needams of Walpole to
Amos Allen; lands adjoin James Smith's and Joshua Boyden's meadows; dated
April 3, 1802.
Perhaps these will be of interest to folks?
There are several Blake names among the notes taken by my relative, and I
am in the process of figuring out where they belong in my own family
tree. But if anyone is seeking a Blake from Wrentham, I may have that
name.
