EARLY INHABITANTS OF IPSWICH, MASS. By Abraham Hammatt , pages 351-353
STORY, William. Was a subscriber to Major Denison 1648. Had
a share and a half in Plum Island, 1664.
In 1679 he was a voter in Town affairs, with the addition of
"senior."
Mary Story, his daughter, joined the Church by taking the
Covenant, April 12, 1674.
He sold a lot of land to William Knowlton, previous to
February 12, 1643.
He purchased, Jan. 1, 1655, of William Symonds, Gent. and
John West, yeoman, two lots of land, adjoining other land which he had
bought of Robert Kinsman, seven acres of which was granted by the town of
Ipswich to John Wedgewood.
He was Surveyor of Highways, 1662. He then had the addition
of "carpenter."
He possessed lands in Chebacco, Noy. 10, 1652, adjoining on
the northwest, land of John Webster.
He purchased, May 8, 1649, of Henry Archer and Elisabeth his
wife, a farm of ninety acres, granted unto Archer by the Town of Ipswich,
beyond Chebacco Falls.
He had permission to have a Mill, 1671, Chebacco river.
In February, 1672, Abr'hm Perkins complained against William
Story, sen'r, for taking of a load of green timber about Dec'r last; oke
timber, which he drew over my farme of the south side Chebacco river; either
off the commons or my farme.
Andrew.Story. 1638. Granted to Andrew Story five acres
planting ground upon Sagamore Hill.
1639. Andrew Story had two acres of land granted to him in
consideration of his services as one of the Pequit soldiers.
[Additions.] William Story, carpenter; came 1637, from
Norwich, Norfolk co.; servant of Samuel Dix. Embarked April 8, 1637; 23
years old. His children :

Seth Story 3, (Dea. Seth 2, William 1,) married Martha Low;
pub. Nov. 30, 1717; he died August 11, 1786, aged ninety-three years. Their
