I'm researching someone who worked for the Eastern Massachusetts Railroad
in the 1920s and 1930s; possibly later. Does anyone know where I could
find information on the Eastern Massachusetts Railroad?

Also, would the State of Massachusetts have been the employer or was this a
private business. The reason I'm wondering this is to determine if he
would have been enrolled in the Social Security program after it was
started; or if he would have been part of a separate retirement system, as
is the case today.
