I am seeking the family origins of James MILLS b. ca 1768 who married
Mindwell SLACK in 1796. Supposedly Mindwell was from the SLACK family of Atteboro,
MA. In a later census, their son James Harvey MILLS listed his parents' place of
birth as MA. We have quite a few records of James MILLS in Lunenberg, VT and
Colebrook, NH but nothing prior to 1796. We believe that his mother was Lydia
MILLS and may have been widowed at a young age. We are trying to find leads in
MA.
