Subject: [GM-L] ANNE (MARBURY) HUTCHINSON
Date: Wed, 25 Jun 2003 12:10:33 EDT
One of the many ancestors of Anne (Marbury) Hutchinson was Sir Walter Blount,
which some publications say was a descendant of the Blount that was a
companion of William The Conqueror, 1066.
Sir Walter married Sancha de Ayala, daughter of Don Diago Gomez de Toledo, by
his wife Donna Ines de Ayala. Various publications had up to 1418, on the
death of Sancha. However, the Calendar of Inquisitions Post Mortem vol. 21
(2002), on page 253 gives her exact death as 15 Nov. 1414.
>From Gen Medieval, referencing the Calendar of Inquisitions Post Mortem vol.
21 (2002), at page 253:
"John de Sutton owned the Castle of Dinas Powis and half the manor of
Llanedeyrn, in Glamorgan, until his death in 1406, whereupon "Sanchia, widow of
Walter Blount, knight, occupied the premises and took the profits by virtue of a
grant by letters patent of Henry IV from the death of John until her death on 15
Nov. 1414."
Enjoy the data.
