Friday, July 25, 2003 -- EASTHAMPTON - Charlotte F. (Foster) Shorey, 95,
of 353 East St. died July 24 in Loomis House in Holyoke.

Born Oct. 2, 1907, in Rumney, N.H., she was the daughter of the late
Walter and Leona (Nichols) Foster.

Mrs. Shorey was the owner for 20 years of Charlotte's Restaurant in
Hebron, Conn. Earlier, she had worked as a registered nurse at Mary
Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, N.H.

Her husband, Gardner Quincy Shorey, died in 1998.

She leaves four daughters, Patricia "Patty" Pimm of Missouri, Charlotte
"Petey" Croshaw of Nebraska, Ellen "Pinky" Gagnon of California and
Charmaine "Penny" Mitchell of Easthampton; a brother, Ralph Foster of
New Hampshire; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Loomis House Scholarship Fund, 298
Jarvis Ave., Holyoke 01040.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. in St. Philip's
Episcopal Church in Easthampton.

There are no calling hours.

Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton is in charge of arrangements.
