I'm sorry, but that was all that Pope's book had.
Have you tried to find him in the 1860 census? It might be well worth a
visit to your local Mormon Church's Family History Library. They have the
census records on film. (Call first to check on the days & hours they are open.)
This is free. They just charge a small fee for copying material.
Have you sent in requests for records to the counties where you think he
may have died? Do you know his wife's name and dates? You may be able to
find information on her, also, this way. If she outlived him, she may have been
living with one of their children in her later years. If you could find David
Ash in the 1850 census you might be able to find the names of his siblings &
trace them. Sometimes you just need to keep digging around before you hit
gold!
