O.k., as soon as you all get done saying that ten times really
fast(tee-hee!), I will request information on SAMUEL HARRINGTON yet
again. My grgrgrgrandfather was Johnathon HARRINGTON(aka Jonathan, and
100 other variations) born 25 Jul 1804 in Barre, MA.
I think the Barre, MA. is a red herring and my grgrgrgrgrandmother just
happened to be in Barre at the exact moment she gave birth.
I have researched in the town of Barre, Worcester County, and surrounding
areas and can't find a shred of evidence that Johnathon or
his parents were there other than the day he was born. SAMUEL HARRINGTON
is a common name and there are 4 Wills in Worcester for various Sam's but
that is it. I mailed away to Vt. and got Johnathon HARRINGTON'S d.c. and
it said he was born to
SAMUEL HARRINGTON in Barre, Ma. and his mother was only listed on his
d.c. as "S." I have tried everything to find this elusive SAMUEL
HARRINGTON. I did a mass mailing of a letter requesting information on
SAMUEL HARRINGTON to HARRINGTONS in two different counties in MA. and a
lot of nice people wrote me and said they wished they could help but had
no information on him.
I have checked all the obvious genealogy related websites, libraries,
etc., and can find nothing. I would surmise that SAMUEL and
his wife "S" would have probably been born about mid 1770's in order to
have a son born in 1804. I have thought that maybe on the
d.c. somebody made a mistake and maybe he was born in Barre, Vt., Barre,
N.Y. or Barre, ANYWHEREUSA so I have made
a complete search of all the various towns named Barre and have had no
results. The only way I would know for sure if the Sam
HARRINGTON I find is my particular SAMUEL HARRINGTON is if I saw his name
connected to Johnathon born in 1804.
I don't know if Johnathon had any siblings so I can't check their birth
or death certificates to see who their parents were or where
they were born. Any help you can give me finding SAMUEL HARRINGTON or the
mother of JOHNATHON HARRINGTON
will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Renné Harrington
