Hello,
I am trying to find more information about the John GILES who married
Abigail RAYMOND at Marblehead, 26 Apr 1698 (Beverly records), or 26 Apr
1694 (Marblehead records). [Is this transcribing error only on online
versions?] Which is correct?

I GUESS that he is the John, son of this John GILES by his first wife
[Savage, Gen. Dict.], "J GYELS of Salem, widdower maried unto Elizabeth
TRASKE widdow of Beverly by Major Denison 5 May 1679 [Salem VR, also
recorded Beverly.] (This John GYLES was son of Edward, b 1645).
John & Elizabeth had children born Beverly Mar 1679/80 - 1683. [VR]

14 children were born or bp to a John GILES or GYLES in Salem VR from
1695/6 - 1718. Plus 2 children were recorded b 1689/90 & 1693 to "John
GILES, schoolmaster & Mary" in Court Recs [also Salem VR] There was a John
GILES, son of Eliezer & Elizabeth, b Salem 1681 [VR], who may be the John
GILES married Ann ANDREW 1706 and/or the John GILES married Esther
SWINNERTON, 1709. [also Salem VR]

Were all the children of John GILES, b 1695/6 - 1705 children of John &
Abigail? What about later ones?

**** Did any of these John GILES leave a will? (That would clear up a lot!)

When did Abigail (RAYMOND) GILES or her husband John GILES die? Abigail was
living 8 Dec 1705 when her father William RAYMOND mentioned his daughter
Abigail, wife of John GILES in his will.

Thanks for any help or pointers. (I have been looking through the Salem
deeds online, but in the period 1691-1709 (Books 9-20) the indices are
either not online or very sketchy (only grantees?), so it involves going
page by page, a very slow process.) If anyone has access to good indices
for these volumes and could point me to page #s for John GILES, That would
be great too.
