Hello,
I am writing from Stoney Creek, Ontario. where it is still cold but sunny
The people on this list were wonderful when I was searching for my GG Grandfather Alexander Campbell McColl.
When I couldn't find him in Scotland, I thought he possibly went to England, where his wife was born.
It was quite a shock to find him in Cambridge, Middlesex, MA.
He came with his wife and one son in 1886, but still had 8 grown up children in Scotland who stayed there to bring up their own families.
Would love to hear from anyone that might connect to Alexander Campbell McColl as I am sure he came to stay with a relative.
The 'C' in his son's name was for Thomas Calder McColl and not Campbell as first thought.
I was born and brought up in Scotland and came to Canada in 1867.
I have the 1881 Census for the UK if anyone would like a lookup.
Thank you to this Wonderful list for all the help you have given me in tracing my Ancestors.
