I am from Poughkeepsie, NY... also very cold and snowy this year!
Mostly I lurk on this message board - there have been many useful
suggestions poster here and I never know what I might learn next!

My husband and I have been researching his GRIFFIN line which is from
Freeport, Maine, as far back as 1766. For 30 years prior to that, they
seem to be in Kingston, NH and, from 1653 'til about 1737-38, Salisbury,
Mass. We are at a "brick wall" as to where they came from prior to
their appearance in 1653 when the birth of a child was recorded in
Salisbury, Mass.... Of course, if anyone has any ideas that we may not
have considered, we'd love to hear them!
