Not in regards to New England, but I've seen "history documentaries" and a
recent "History Detectives" show which told about the "immigrant camps"
where "the Chinese" were kept - while "the Govt." decided whether they were
healthy enough to live in our country !
it wasnt sad it was public health
maybe since cholera and scarlet fever and typhoid arent so common now we
dont understand why this was done . but in those days you better do that this
country was never open to all past the colonial days and the indians wished it
was then.
what was sad was the reasons why people had to leave their own countries the
stupid prejudice and oppression by so called civilized people
