Hi Christine,

This has been on my Genealogy To Do List for several years, and have never
gotten around to actively searching for the records. I went to the
following page, and I think I'm reading that you really need to know which
Port the ancestor came to when they arrived !

If you know the Port, for sure, you can probably order on-line from NARA,
but, if you don't, you probably have to go to an LDS Center which has a
subscription to Ancestry.com

I have 2 reasons to go back to the LDS Center in Nashua, NH, one is to see
what is available for "immigration records" from 1857 to 1887. The other
is to use their facilities to look at the 1930 census - and other things
which can be looked at through Ancestry.com.

However, I found out a few months ago that my local Library has a
subscription to Ancestry.com So, I might go there some morning when
their computers might be available .. and see what there is to find !

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

FYI: The following ancestors were immigrants from after 1800:

1857 HANNAH / RITCHIE couple arrived from Scotland
~1874 KERR / HENDERSON couple's son arrived from Quebec Province; they
and other children came down in 1880's, I believe !
1880 LEWIS / CORKILL couple arrived from Nova Scotia

(Unfortunately, I have "no" idea how they got to Boston ! )
