I would like to think they are at the current Worcester State Hospital. I believe I tried calling them and explained why I was calling. They mentioned if I didn't know the date she (my great grandmother) was admitted, I'd have a hard time finding her records. Guess things weren't alphabetized back then. And if they did find them, they couldn't just give them to me. I think you would have to get something from the court stating you were related somehow. I haven't recently tried calling them so don't know if you would get the same answer.

The Worcester, Ma. Asylum was demolished in 1900, Does anyone know where the
records are located and if they are available for research. My gg
grandfather, Edward McCabe, was there according to the 1880 census. He was
from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. I think he was there because of drinking.
