HALBERSTADT, CATHERINE
Catherine W. (Cameron) Capp Halberstadt, 96, of South Hampton, died
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Ernst Halberstadt and the late Al Capp, who
died in 1979.
Born in Northfield, Vermont, November 21, 1909, she was the daughter of
Colin J. and Della (Wingate) Cameron and graduated from Amesbury High
School. She attended Boston Museum of Fine Arts and was a professional
artist. She was a member of the Friendship Chapter No. 58, Order of
Eastern Star; Daughters of the American Revolution; and the Piscataqua
Pioneers. Mrs. Capp Halberstadt is survived by a daughter and
son-in-law, Julie and Julian Lapedra Cairol of South Hampton; a son and
daughter-in-law, Colin C. and Lynn (Gibson) Capp of Little Rock, AK;
eight grandchildren, Caitlin J. Manning of San Francisco; William Peirce
of Kittery, ME; Gabrielle Peirce of Los Angeles; Annabel Manning of
Charlotte, NC; Yolande Manning of Lake Zurich, IL; Sean C. Capp of
Tempe, AZ; Heather Capp Hill of Mesa, AZ; Mahlon B. Capp of Little Rock,
AK; and Caitlin Cara Capp of Sheraton, AK; eight great grandchildren,
Francesca Manning of San Francisco; Auguste Gezalyan of Los Angeles;
Cameron Peirce of Kittery, ME; Sonia Manning of Charlotte, NC; Ethan
Hill and Jessica Catherine Hill both of Mesa, AZ; and Brendon and
Victoria Capp, both of Tempe, AZ. She was predeceased by a daughter,
Catherine J. Peirce who died in 1977, and a granddaughter, Tamsen Jo
Manning who died in 1977. A graveside service for relatives and friends
will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Prospect Cemetery, Elm Street,
Amesbury. An Eastern Star service will be conducted by Friendship
Chapter No. 58. By request of the family, there will be no calling
hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the
Rockingham VNA Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements
are by Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue,
Amesbury.
