Deacon Elijah Livermore, m. (q) Dinah Harrington. She died Sept 30, 1759,
and he m. (2)
April 6, 1762, Hannah Clarke, born at Newton, Jan 14, 1740, dau. of Capt.
John Clarke.
Children:
1. Abigail Livermore b. Nov 20, 1758, died 1817; m. 1780, Rev. Elisha
Williams, b. Oct.
7, 1757; grad. Yale Coll. 1775; A.M. Harvard and Yale. About 1790, he moved
to Livermore;
was the first schoolmaster of the town, and about 1798, became the pastor of
the Baptist
church in Brunswick, Maine and afterwards of a church at Beverly, Mass.
Several of the
latter years of his life were spent in Cambridge, without a pastoral charge,
where he died
Feb. 3, 1845 aged 88 years. Children:
1. Sarah Potter Williams b. Mar 28, 1782; died Jan 16, 1809, unm.
2. Nancy Williams b. Sept 24, 1783; m. Benjamin Giles of Beverly, Mass.
Children:
1. Sarah Giles who m. John Minot of Westford, Mass., and had 6 children.
2. Ann Giles m. Thomas J. Leland of Chester, VT., and now resides at
Cambridge.
Six children.
3. Abby Giles who m. Henry Potter of Boston, Mass.
4. Alfred Ellenwood Giles, a student (1845) at the law school, Cambridge.

1780; now of Portland, Maine. Children:
1. Elisha Williams Appleton b. in Mass., Oct 5, 1810; m. Feb. 16, 1837,

2. Sarah Potter Appleton b. in Mass., Dec 25, 1812; m. Jan 25, 1845, John
Goodenow.

2. William Livermore b. Jan 9, 1763; died in Louisiana, 1832. He was bred a
merchant in
Boston; traded several years on Roccomeeco Point in Jay (now Canton), Maine
and after-
wards in Hallowell, and was a Major in the militia. He m. Sept. 7, 1793,
Sarah, the
widow of ____ Jones (by whom she had one son, ___ Jones) and was the dau. of
Elias and
Mary Taylor. She was b. Feb 26, 1757 and died in Hallowell, Sept. 3, 1838.

1. William Livermore b. Jan 8, 1794; died at New Orleans, 1815, unm.
2. Sarah Phipps Livermore b. Nov 13, 1799; died Aug 25, 1840; m. November
1821,

farmer and Justice of the Peace. He m. at Hallowell, Elizabeth Kinney of
Boston who died
June, 1823 aged 48 years. Children:
1. Hannah Livermore b. July 19, 1797; died at Boston, January 1836.
2. Granville Putnam Livermore b. Nov 10, 1798; was of St. Joseph's,
Missouri.
3. Eliza Livermore b. Nov 30, 1801; of Boston, unm.
4. Elijah Livermore b. Apr. 10, 1804 of St. Joseph's, Missouri.
5. Horatio Gates Livermore b. Mar 16, 1807; m. Elizabeth Slater of Boston,
where
he resided.

5. Sarah Livermore b. Dec. 7, 1770; m. Robert Pierpont of Roxbury, the
adopted son of her
aunt, Mrs. Hannah (Livermore) Pierpont. His original name was John Murdock
of Newton. He
died at Livermore, Maine, Dec 9, 1811 aged 42 yrs. Children:

Livermore, Maine until 1805 when he was appointed Clerk of the Courts of the
new County
of Oxford and moved to Paris, Maine where he died Feb 2, 1829 and his widow
died Aug 25,
1852. Children:
1. Elijah Livermore Hamlin b. Dec. 30, 1798; died April, 1799.
2. Elijah Livermore Hamlin (again) b. Mar 29, 1800; grad. Brown Univ. 1819;
was a counsellor at law at Bangor, Maine and the Mayor of that city. He m.
Eliza Choate of Salem. Children:
1. Adeline Hamlin.
2. Augustus Choate Hamlin.
3. Julia Hamlin.
3. Cyrus Hamlin b. July 16, 1802; M.D., Bowdoin Coll. 1828. He settled at
Calais, Maine

and died May, 1839 at Galveston, Texas whither he had gone for his health.

Stephen & Sarah (Stowell) Emery of Paris, Maine. Children:

8. Hannah Livermore Hamlin b. Oct 10, 1814; m. Dr. Thomas Barnes Townsend,
M.D.; Bowdoin Coll. 1837; settled at Machias, Maine; he died soon after their
marriage.
7. Samuel Livermore b. Apr. 21, 1778; of Livermore, Maine; m. Apr 16, 1801,
Lura Chase,
b. at Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard, Mar. 14, 1784; dau of Thomas & ___ (Luce)
Chase. He died
Nov 26, 1823 and his widow afterwards m. John Fuller of Livermore, Maine.
His children:
1. Betsey Livermore b. Oct 4, 1803; died July 23, 1822.
2. Emery Livermore b. Feb 18, 1809; m. Oct 25, 1836, Elizabeth Douglass born

Portland, Maine, 1808; and settled at St. Joseph's, Missouri.
