Benjamin Goddard, one of the first settlers of Shrewsbury, married Sept. 25,
1733, Grace Fiske, b. May 9, 1714, dau. of Deacon Nathan & Sarah (Cooledge)
Fiske, of Watertown. He died Jan 28, 1754, esteemed for his usefulness and
piety. His widow, Grace, died October 28, 1803 aged 89 years, 5 mos. & 8 days.
Children:

1. Grace Goddard b. Jan. 1, 1736; m. 1755, Jasper Stone.
2. Benjamin Goddard b. Feb 19, 1738; died Sept. 23, 1740.
3. Sarah Goddard b. Jan. 8, 1740; m. Jan. 1762, Joseph Nichols.
4. Benjamin Goddard b. Mar 29, 1742, a Deacon and a farmer of Shrewsbury; m.
Nov. 14, 1769, Hannah
Williams of Pomfret, Conn., b. May 25, 1751. She died Oct. 8, 1797 and he m.
(2) Lucy ___, who died
Mar. 22, 1822 aged 81 and he m. (3) Nov 30, 1823, the widow, Betsey Russel
of Marlboro. He died Dec 27,
1834 and his widow died April 18, 1845, aged 80 yrs. Children:
1. Samuel Goddard b. Aug 2, 1772; of Shrewsbury; m. 1804, Rebecca Davis of
Holden. Children:
1. John Davis Goddard b. Mar 5, 1805; m. Sally ____, and had Zeruah Johnson
Goddard b.
May 18, 1831.
2. Rebecca Hubbard Goddard b. Aug. 6, 1807; died Sept 28, 1810.
3. Rebecca Brigham Goddard b. Mar 3, 1812; died Nov 12, 1829.

Holland of
Shrewsbury. After the birth of his children he moved to Holden. Children:

4. Grace Goddard b. Feb 14, 1784; m. Sept 24, 1805 Mansfield Bruce of
Marlboro, Vermont.
5. Elizabeth Goddard b. Sept 16, 1786; m. Oct 12, 1809, David Hill of
Marlboro.
6. George Sumner Goddard b. Apr 8, 1789; a watchmaker of Boston, m. Sarah
Pond. He was
elected a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Boston, and was much
esteemed for his con-
sistant Christian character and amiable temper and manners. He died Dec.
21, 1831. Children:

of Framingham b. Oct 31, 1746. He was dismissed to Newbury, Vermont, 1784,
having previously lived some
time at Coos Co., New Hampshire. He returned to Framingham 1789 where he
died July 24, 1795, and his
widow m. (2) Simon Goddard, Esq., of Phillipston. Children:

1. Nichols Goddard b. oct 4, 1773; of Rutland, VT; m. Sept 16, 1798,
Charity White, b. at So.
Hadley June 27, 1779, dau. of Job White, of Northampton. Children:
1. Evelina Pamela Goddard b. Dec 31, 1799; m. Simeon Ide, one of the
proprietors of the
"Vermont Republican," at Windsor, Vermont.
2. Edward Goddard b. Dec 28, 1801; died Sept 14, 1803.
3. Harriet Martha Goddard b. Jan 2, 1804; m. Ormond Button of Keene, N.H.
4. Nichols White Goddard b. Dec 17, 180_.
5. Edward Lewis Goddard b. June 9, 180_.
6. Nathan Chapin Goddard b. Sept 22, 1811.
7. Charlotte Mary Goddard b. April 29, 1814.
2. Grace Goddard b. april 12, 1775; m. Ephraim Drury, son of Colonel Drury
of Grafton; of
Walpole, N.H.; he died at Marlboro, Mass. June 10, 1833.
3. Nathan Goddard b. Dec 15, 1777; a painter of Framingham; m. Dec 12, 1803,
Prudence Hemmenway,
b. Aug 17, 1781, dau. of John & Deborah Hemmenway of Framingham. She died
Apr 9, 1812. He m. (2)
Jan 6, 1814, Polly Bacon, b. June 8, 1790, dau. of Hezekiah & Mehitabel
Bacon of Natick. He died
July 4, 1822. Children:
