Yes - but there were State censuses in MA in 1855 & 1865, as referred to
earlier. The whole censuses are indexed and on microfilm at the MA Archives in
Boston. There are typed extracts there but these seem not to be available
for every community. They may never have been done for every community. I
wonder whether/how much of these is available at other libraries, eg Worcester
Public, which has a lot of genealogical reference material.
