5. Thomas Ruggles b. Aug 17, 1777; grad. Yale Coll. 1805; ordained at Derby,
Conn. 1817,
dismissed and silenced 1825. He moved to Wallingford, Connn where he died
1838
of intemperance and licentiousness. He m. (1) Hannah Sanford
of Huntington, Conn. who d. October 1813 and he m. (2) the widow Lucretia
Hull of
Wallingford. He had one child, Sarah Ruggles b. August, 1820; died 1837. He
was
wealthy, chiefly by marriage and left no legitimate children.
2. John Ruggles b. July 24, 1739; d. Feb 10, 1749.
3. Anne Ruggles b. Aug 11, 1741; d. June 16, 1795; m. Oct 18, 1763, James
Stone.
4. Rebecca Ruggles b. August 1743; m. Oct 18, 1763, David Sanderson.
5. Thomas Ruggles b. 3rd day of Sept.; died Sept 20th, 1745.
6. Huldah Ruggles b. Oct 2; died Dec 11, 1746.

(Guilford) ever produced. He
represented the town in 43 sessions of the Legislature, was several times
Speaker, was Judge of our County
and Probate Courts, was Town Clerk and all the business of the church
society and a large share of the
County and of the Colony for thirty years seems to have centred in him."
