Nathaniel Bright, a tanner and farmer, m. July 26, 1681, Mary Coolidge, b.
Dec 11, 1660, dau.
of Simon and Hannah Coolidge. She died Dec 1, 1717. His Will, dated Sept.
22, 1725, mentions
his sons, Henry Bright, Nathaniel Bright, John Bright and Joseph Bright and
daughters, Mary
Livermore, Hannah Bond, Abigail and Mercy. He appointed his four sons
executors, but John and
Nathaniel Bright declined to serve. Children:
1. Mary Bright b. Oct 7, 1682, m. Dec 14, 1704, Deacon Thomas Livermore and
have numerous
descendants.
2. Henry Bright b. August 16, 1684; died Oct 24, 1756, aged 73 years.
3. Nathaniel Bright b. Dec 28, 1686; died Dec 28, 1737.
4. John Bright b. April 5, 1689, m. Dec. 17, 1726, Rebecca Traine b. Dec 7,
1701, dau. of
Thomas and Rebecca (Stearns) Traine, who died 1736 and he died 1764.
5. Joseph Bright b. July 11, 1692; died 1757.
6. Hannah Bright, b. Aug 7, 1694; died 1786, aged 92 yrs.; m. Feb. 4,
1718-19, Jonas Bond, Esq.,
and had 9 children.
7. Abigail Bright, who m. July 20, 1732, Capt. John Brown and died soon,
leaving one child,
Abigail Brown b. April 27, 1733, who m. 1755, Israel Whittemore, of Weston.

Whittemore, of
Concord, son of John & Ruth Whittemore of Malden, & his 1st wife, Patience
Reed dau. of Israel & Mary (Kendall) Reed of Woburn. Israel Whittemore m.
May 1, 1755, Abigail Brown. Children:
1. Abigail Whittemore b. Mar. 22, 1756.
2. Lois Whittemore b. Sept 11, 1758.
3. Patience Whittemore b. Aug 27, 1760.
4. Aaron Whittemore b. July 13, 1762.
5. John Whittemore b. Apr. 18, 1764; m. April 17, 1788, Anna Steadman.
6. Anna Whittemore b. Aug 24, 1767.
7. Sally Whittemore b. Oct 4, 1770.
8. Benjamin Bright b. July 19, 1698; not mentioned in his father's Will.
9. Mercy Bright who m. Feb 10, 1725-6, m. John Coolidge b. Oct 22, 1697, son
of Richard and
Mary (Bond) Coolidge and had nine children.
Cornet Henry Bright m. Margaret Jackson, dau. of Abraham & Elizabeth
(Biscoe) Jackson. She
died April 16, 1758 aged 73 yrs. In her Will dated 1757, she mentions her
son Silas Bright,
her dau., Jemima Trowbridge; dau. Kezia Sanderson; dau., Mellicent,
grandson, Henry Bright the
only son of her son, Henry Bright; son Benjamin Bright and appoints John
Kimball executor.
Children:
1. Jemima Bright b. July 19, 1712, m. 1734, Jonathan Trowbridge b. July 23,
1711, son of
John & Sarah (Wilson) Trowbridge.
2. Elizabeth Bright b. July 19, 1714; prob. died young.
3. Henry Bright born and died December, 1715.
4. Kezia Bright b. July 27, 1717; m. Isaac Sanderson and lived on the old
homestead of
Deacon Henry Bright.
5. Henry Bright b. Sept 25, 1719, by his wife, Sarah, had an only child,
Henry Bright b.
Oct. 2, 1744; grad. Harvard Coll. 1770; died in Spencer, 1774, unmarried.
Said to
have been possessed of very estimable and endearing qualities. The father
died early,
and his widow m. (2) Sept. 1748, Benjamin Bemis and moved to Spencer.
6. Benjamin Bright b. Sept. 25, 1721; died February, 1766, unmarried.

7. Silas Bright b. Sept. 30, 1724; died Feb 21, 1766, unmarried.
8. Mellicent Bright b. Mar 12, 1727; died, unmarried.
