I've never seen a pension that named parents. You're lucky when it
names wife and children.

> Thank you all who responded for my request about Michael Holligan and Bridget Poland. The seem a mystery to me. I did send away $37 for the complete civil war pension file from NARA and it told me nothing. That is where I got Bridget writing the date of marriage and priest's name from. But it gave me nothing of either of their parents or places or dates of birth. I did find that death entry in Templeton which I think is her but again the death record gives no parents or husband's name so I cannot link it. Templeton is right near Otter River and that is where her son John lived so that has to be her.

They married November 23, 1857 in Blackstone Mass by Father Sheridan. I have this information handwritten by Bridget but Blackstone has no record of the marriage. Would anybody know how I could find out what church Father Sheridan worked for? Michael Holligan volunteered into the Civil War in 1862 out of Worcester Mass. He was hurt twice and the second time deserted June 30, 1864 while in the hospital. He was never seen again. I have NO information on Michael or Bridget. Can somebody look up if they can find Michael coming over here. Or Bridget. Between 1835-1857?
