Hello Marie,

I found on the NEHGS site the following:
Vo. 457; Pg 775

William James Chappel b. Nov 24, 1896 to Joseph & Mary (Harvey) Chappel in
Springfield, MA. Joseph's occupation was Teamster; both parents born in
Highgate, Vt.; Parents residence at time of birth was Springfield, MA.

There was also a census report for 1930 with a Wm. J. Chappell lvg. in
Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA with wife Alice and children: Harold,
Dorothy, Wm. Virginia & Alice. I can provide more details if any of those
names sound familiar
