Plymouth is one of my favorit places. I visit several times a year.

There are several hotels in the area in a variety of price ranges.

We always eat right on the water front at one of the seafood restaurants.
Isaac's restaurant is great. The shops over at the landing are great fun to
wander through. Ice cream at Peaceful Meadows is a must.

I have taken a Duck tour of the Harbor and it give a different perspective
on the harbor. The view from the top of the hill above the Mayflower is
great! That will bring you up to the wax museum and Gift shop. The wax
museum is not bad, as far as wax musuems go. Walk up there and look through
the bineaculars out over the harbor.

If you haven't been to Plymouth, promise not to laugh when you see Plymouth
Rock. It is this puny rock in a cage. Mostly hugely symbolic.

I like the Pilgrim Hall museum and the plantation. That could take the
better part of the day. The plantation has a great store with a good
selection of genealogy resources. Hit the plantation first thing in the
morning. There are not a lot of trees in the village itself and it can be
pretty hot on an August afternoon.

If you do a google search you will come up with several websites devoted to
plymouth.

The plantation is www.plimoth.org

The newspaper website www.southofboston.com will take you to the link for
the guide to Plymouth, which is published quarterly.

Hi fellow listers,

I am planning a short vacation to Plymouth this summer August I think. I
have never been and am looking for suggestions of must see places to go and
things to do, plus any helpful hints you may have. They would really be
appreciated.

Thanks in advance
