As a Richard Warren descendant, a MUST for you is the excellent genealogical
library and museum of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants on North
Street, just above Plymouth Rock. I served as a volunteer to a prvious
librarian for several years. You will find the present librarian , Paul
Bumpus, very friendly and helpful. As for the rock, has it occurred to the
detractors that it was a cold December day that the shallop pulled to the
shore of Plymouth harbor? Since there was no pier to pull up to and the
shallop had a deep draft, it is logical that they pulled up to a large rock
adjacent to land in order to debark without stepping into the icy harbor
waters. There was such a stir when the town tried to movethe rock that it
may be the legend has some truth to it. Visit also the Mayflower docked
near the rock. Note the shallop alongside. Enjoy the visit. All sites
mentioned by other listers, except Plymouth Plantation, are within walking
distance of the center of town.

I HAVE NOT READ ANY OF THE BOOKS SUGGESTED BUT, AM HEADING FOR A USED BOOK
