My family are not Mormons and never were but 1600, 1700, 1800 and 1900
hundreds they are listed as being baptized after death and records are owned
by towns and so on and we can get them through the towns. They had no
choice in this matter noir would they have changed faith either many of my
past family were deacons. We honor our families of the past and do not wish
to see them have no choice in a country they fought for starting with the
revolution and every war since. They fought for freedom of choice, where is
this choice now?

Wanda

If it was not for the custom of baptising of the "dead", the Mormon Church
would never have been the instrument they are in the genealogy community.

Those records would have been Lost.

When the Mormon's do this rite, they are not changing the lives those people

lived. They only believe that if the person wants to accept the teachings,
they are making it available.
