Wanda, this has also stuck in my craw. My ancestors were not Mormons but
apparently someone down their tree was and imposed on OUR ancestor's and
had their marriages blessed, or whatever the Mormons call it, and baptized
retroactively. Other descendants of my ancestors do not own the rights to
their
estate, reputation nor spirituality.

A friend asked why I should care, what is wrong with it? Whether I am living
or dead, I do not want a second baptism by a church of which I am not a
member nor believe in that religion and my marriage blessed by anyone or
anything other than the blessings received during the original event. I
would like
to think my ancestors would have felt the same. They lived their lives as
they
saw fit and apparently they did a pretty good job at it, as a multitude of
books
have been written about many of them.

I wish I were more of a wordsmith and could write exactly how I feel about
the whole subject. I just think it's a terrible imposition on anyone doing
something
in their stead, living or dead.

Joan

Subject: [GENMASSACHUSETTS] question

Would anyone know how one would go about having my family of yore that never
would have belonged to the Moron church removed? This is a genealogy
questions they were not of this religion when the lived or died and no one
has the right to change there beliefs or faith after they died and can’t
fight back. Thank you Wanda of ME
