I called Boston Public Library this morning. I was about make the trip in
and register.
I was told that HQ is NOT available remotely. Only if you go in to Boston
to use it.

Heritage Quest has most of the US federal censuses on line. Also
books, periodicals, and Revolutionary War records.
HQ is offered free by many libraries. For example, all Massachusetts
residents have free remote access to HQ using the Boston Public
Library's online gateway. If you live outside Boston you will have
to visit the library in person to have your local library card approved.
After that, you can access HQ from home. http://www.bpl.org
(click on Electronic Resources)
http://www.eogen.com/HeritageQuestOnline
has a list of libraries in most states that offer access to HQ.
