Very good question Carol. I'd be interested in seeing any answers as
well.
I've recently read on another mail list that " midwife births" were a
rather "sketchy" area for recording. Clearly, they'd fall into the
1700's time frame. Some other poster asked if there were "diaries" of
midwives. I suppose, if there are, they're few and far between. It seems
to me the 1700's are an area of "hit and miss" records. One is most
lucky to find a baptism recorded, I think.
