Subject: [GENMASSACHUSETTS] Samuel RIPLEY and Margaret NAIL(sp)
Date: Fri, 11 Jan 2008 06:20:25 -0500 (EST)

My 5th g-grandparents were Samuel RIPLEY and Margaret NAIL(sp), married at
Boothbay, Maine 1770--that was Massachusetts back then.

I have no idea who Margaret was and her surname may have been ONeill or
MacNeil, etc.

Samuel RIPLEY was born at Hingham, 1729, a son of Hezekiah RIPLEY. Samuel
traces back to William Ripley, the progenitor of the family in that area.

Samuel is in the Hingham book as Lemuel Ripley. An paid researcher traced
this line and I feel confident his assumptions are correct--it's Samuel
Ripley not Lemuel Ripley.

I haven't been find any other information on Margaret. Samuel was a
soldier in the Crown Point expedition and during the Rev. War he was a
corporal in Capt. Curtis' Co., Col. Cargill's 1st Lincoln Co. regiment. I
haven't found any other information on Samuel after his Rev. War service,
and he may have died during that period.

I'm looking for any information on Samuel and Margaret, post-Rev. War and
any other pertinent information.

Samuel was a resident of Freetown, which is now Edgecomb and to my
knowledge the land deeds are missing or never existed.

Any information appreciated.

Charles
