Hello Vikki_rose79:
There are lots of Parmenter's, and I am one of them. I have our Family Ancestry done clear back to the 1400's in France, where the name was "Parmentier". According to my records, we show a (Deacon)John Parmenter son of William Parmenter. John was born about 1588 in England, he married Bridget ? also of England. John is the Eleventh Generation of Parmenter's. They had 2 children; Mary and John Jr. came to America in 1639 also with them were widow Elizabeth Loker and her children. John Parmenter was one of the orginal proprietors of Sudbury, MA and assigned lands May 1640 by the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. John was chosen selectman, then Deacon, and Commissioner; he made Freeman 13 May 1640.
I have more information if you think this is the John you're looking for.
James.
