Hello,

I was just reading this morning's "Lowell Sun," and discovered a name on the
Obituaries page which I recognized. It is sad to read that Shirley
Rathbun has passed. As part of the obituary says:

"Mrs. Rathbun was very active in the genealogical community in Lowell, doing
much volunteer work at both the Pollard Library, and at the Center for
Lowell History over the course of many years."

I just checked the archives of the Nova Scotia List to see if I was
remembering correctly, and Shirley was the researcher who provided that List
with the names of people at the "Tewksbury Almshouse" who had been born in
Nova Scotia. She was active on that List for several years.

Shirley was only 65, so she must have suffered a serious illness before her
passing.

Oh, I just noticed in the obituary that her husband was the Rev. Robert
Rathbun, a pastor of a Baptist Church in Lowell.

Shrley will be missed.
